What are Florida Oversize Permits?
Florida requires oversize permits for vehicles and loads exceeding the standard legal size and weight limits on its roads. These licenses guarantee that huge loads be transported effectively and legally, while also security facility integrity and public safety.
– Florida Single Trip Permits: These permits are issued for one-time travel within the state.
– Florida Annual Permits: Offers long-term authority for the transportation of heavy loads on a regular basis.
– Florida Overhang Permits: Control weights that extend beyond the front or rear of the vehicle.
– Florida Overweight Permits: Allowance for loads that exceed regular weight limitations.
Florida Permits Validity: Oversize permits in Florida are valid for 10 travel days. A permit is necessary to enter the state.
Florida Operating Hours: from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, including Saturdays and Sundays, provided the load is 10 feet broad or smaller, within authorized trailer length, and no taller than 14 feet 6 inches. Loads broader than 10 feet but less than 14 feet in width may travel on Saturdays and Sundays until 12:00 noon. Overweight loads may often run continuously.
Florida Limited Travel: Movement is restricted in Hillsborough and Dade counties between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Other county curfews, based on allowable dimensions, will be included on the Florida permit. Travel is forbidden for loads wider than 10 feet, taller than 14 feet 6 inches, or longer than permissible length on six major holidays, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and may also be limited on the days before and after New Year’s, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
